I love vegan and plant based foods. You’ll find here a collection of recipes, stories and images from my family life. My focus is on healthy and natural foods: fresh organic produce, and a preference for local ingredients. I develop the recipes and cook them, Philip takes the photos since photography is his passion, he also does all the WordPress admin stuff which quite frankly makes my head hurt. I’ve been a vegetarian for about 20 years or so just for the healthier lifestyle. This life style really hit home when my second born son Jordan asked what he was eating one evening at the dinner table. Once I explained that it was meat which comes from animals he wasn’t too happy and said that he didn’t want to eat animals anymore. Jordan was diagnosed with autism at age 5 and is now 16 and to this day he will not eat animals. This brought home the notion of myself becoming a full time vegan. I tried the raw diet last year but found it really difficult during the cold winter months when fresh fruits and vegetables are in short supply. Also during our winter months it’s so nice to come home to a warm bowl of soup.
Our true loves are, good healthy comfort foods, live music, camping and travel. Living here in Southern Ontario where the winters are both long and cold, we have a dream to purchase a truck and travel trailer so we can head to warmer climates FOR EVER! We would love to travel full time and blog for a living. You have to have a dream for it to come true!
